Funny Americans...

I find that the more time I spend in the US, the more of a staunch Canadian that I become...

I'm sure that part of the issue is that I'm hypersensitive to the ridiculous comments that some people make about Canada (such as: "sometimes I forget that there's a whole other country up there"). But it could also be that the United States really IS different from Canada. The mix of people is different, and so is the attitude.

Point 1: So where are all the Asians?? I remember when we first moved to Toronto, I felt the same way about Canada's lack of Mexicans. But now I find that I'm looking all over for some sort of an Asian community. I'm so used to turning a corner and finding Chinatown, and now I'm baffled by the idea that the closest Chinatown is in a sketchy part of the southside. I'm sure that there's another one around, but it's too cold to go our searching for it right now.

Point 2: On the plus side - the Mexican food here is abundant and good. Not quite Texas good, but certainly better than anything I found in the Great White North in the past 14 years.
