Apparently sarcasm is lost on kids...
Brendan is 4.
J and I were playing Lincoln Logs with Brendan in the toy room.
J wanted Brendan to go get the grabber arm to play with.
Brendan wouldn't go and get it until J promised that she wouldn't grab anyone with it.
J promised not to grab anyone with it.
Brendan went and got the grabber arm.
J proceeded to grab me with the grabber arm.
This act makes Aunt J's "promise" to Brendan a lie.
Therefore Aunt J is a LIAR.
I asked Brendan "who's a liar". His reply "Aunt J"... which is a correct response - smart boy.
Anytime after this incident when I asked Brendan who the liar was....he correctly responded "Aunt J".
J proceeded to continue her lies by telling Brendan that his Aunt Sam doesn't love him...
A couple of days later I found out that Brendan had lied to his Dad. When Dan confronted him about the lie - he justified it with "but Aunt J is a liar..."
Seems that sarcasm is lost on children.

Yes, I am a LIAR and proud of it. I lie for good though and not for evil. Get used to it, Sammy, I will not ever stop. :-)
